AKC Introduces New Outstanding Sportsmanship Award With the intention of promoting good sportsmanship and honoring volunteer club members whose efforts greatly benefit the sport, AKC has introduced the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award. Each AKC member club will be provided with one medallion each year that it may award at its discretion. When clubs report their honorees to AKC, they will be listed on the AKC web page. Award presentations are a great way to earn publicity for your club. We encourage your club to write a brief summary of how your club member earned the award and include it in a press release to the club member’s local newspapers. This is a great way to express your gratitude as a club toward the work performed by its members. Now only will it help improve the morale of your club but it will also show the community that your club is a great organization to belong to and you may even entice new people to join!
